Flights to
Cuba? what?
In January, the
Obama Administration loosened restrictions on travel to
Cuba for religious, academic, and journalistic travel--and even cultural travel.
Airports, however, have to jump through some hoops to ensure they can handle the immigration and customs requirements of traveling to and from
Cuba.
Charter flights are now allowed out of eight airports, and
Baltimore-Washington International is one of them, the
Business Journal reports. This opens up the region to
Cuba, which should be helpful to many organizations based here. Direct flights to the island nation are sounding pretty good after the weather we've been having.
