Flooding in and around Penn Quarter

We thought that we'd be done with nasty, rainy weather - at least for a week or so - when Hurricane Irene left us.

Today is proving us very, very wrong. The entrance to the 9th Street tunnel at Constitution has been blocked off by police due to excessive flooding.

WJLA is also reporting that the 14th Street bridge has been closed in both directions due to flooding. You can keep an eye on it, live, for yourself here:

We will keep you posted as we hear updates. Stay safe out there, Penn Quarter!

UPDATE FROM DDOT:
Traffic alert: the 14th Street Bridge IS NOT CLOSED. However, traffic is very heavy & 395 NB is closed once you get on DC side.
