Union Station Fire Update

Problems with the Red Line rage on.  Metro's spokesman Dan Stessel cites an "arcing stud," part of the third rail for the fire.  The fire originated on the Glenmont-side but the smoke of course engulfed the entire station, which is still closed.  Stessel says that trains are currently running through the station without stopping.  Crews will have to cut the bolt out of the rail before trains can resume.
Your options?  WMATA has set up a shuttle between New York Avenue, Union Station and Judiciary Square.  Or, scoot to Chinatown and take the Yellow or Green Lines.

UPDATE 10:10 AM:  Union Station appears to be reopening, but delays persist.

UPDATE 10:21 AM from @dcfireems: VRE, MARC and AMTRAK services are operating on normal schedules.
