We try to keep tabs on the First Lady's whereabouts when she's in our neighborhood, but as even Mrs. Obama will admit, even she doesn't know where she's eaten because she always goes in through the side or back door.
Now, thanks to Politico, you can now eat just like the First Lady (without the paparazzi).
Back in January we reported that Mr. and Mrs. Obama dined at The Source for her birthday. That visit became so popular that the restaurant published the menu and offered it as a special:
- Spicy tuna tartar in sesame-miso cones
- Dumplings with field mushrooms and garlic chives
- Wok-fired lobster
- Prime filet with smoked onion chili sauce
- 15-layer carrot cake
One year ago, Mrs. Obama popped into Rasika and had:
- Crispy baby spinach with sweet yogurt and tamarind
- Mango shrimp
- Chicken kebab
- Tandoori lamb chops
- Black cod
- Green masal chicken
- Okra
- Basmati rice & breads
- Blueberry kulfi
- Apple jalabi
At Ristorante Tosca:
- White asparagus
- Linguine with calamari, shrimp, scallops and mussels (but only a half order!)
- Roasted halibut with a hazelnut crust
- Sauvignon blanc
- Blueberry sorbet
At Sei:
- Wasabi guacamole
- Fish & chips sushi
- Strawberry & salon sushi
- Triple tuna with spicy tuna mix
At Acadiana (for lunches):
- Watermelon and feta salad
- Oyster po'boy
- Seafood crepe
- Shrimp & grits
- Buttermilk biscuits
At Proof (for lunch):
- Spicy sweet shrimp burger
- Chardonnay
- Warm chocolate bread pudding
Hie thee to OpenTable!
