Le Pain Quotidien coming to Penn Quarter

Many thanks to reader Amber for this tip - it looks like Paul is getting some competition.  French bakery Le Pain Quotidien is coming to Penn Quarter at 10th and F Streets N.W., right next to St. Patrick's Church

Their bread is made with organic stone-ground flour, salt, and water, kneaded and shaped by hand.

Their menu includes many different types of bread, as well as tartines, salads, and other specialties.  The bakery also offers bakery classes at their other U.S. locations.

Tartines
The bakery already has a presence in Washington, with locations on 17th Street N.W., and in Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Capitol Hill, Alexandria, Bethesda, Spring Valley, and Clarendon.  About time they made their way to Penn Quarter!

We will let you know more about opening dates and details as we know them.  Thanks for the tip, Amber!
