Former Museum and Platinum club space sold to Douglas Development, will not be a nightclub

Platinum nightclub had its problems.  Then the Museum of Arts and Sciences came in after much opposition, because it was clearly going to be a bar.  However, it opened and closed just a few weeks later.  The space has been sitting empty for months.

Now, the Washington Business Journal reports, the space has been bought by Douglas Development, and the company says it will not be a nightclub.

The developer wants to open up the windows and give the space more curb appeal and then lease it to a retail establishment or a restaurant.  They want it to be a space that is open during the day and adds to the F Street culture.

The space inside is incredible - we have some pictures from when we reviewed Museum here.

Douglas paid $5 million for the space, a deal considering the previous owner paid twice that in June 2009.
