| A different type of upgrade this weekend |
If you are planning on using Metro this weekend and your SmartTrip card is running low, you may want to load it up before the weekend arrives.
Metro will be upgrading the SmartTrip computer operating systems and database software.
While you'll still be able to use your SmartTrip, you may have some difficulty reloading it. You will not be able to use your debit card to reload your smart trip on Saturday. Credit Card transactions will be limited to those under $20.
If you use one of the machines in CVS or another retailer, they will only accept cash on Saturday and Sunday.
You will also not be able to access the SmartBenefits web applications or claim your benefits this weekend.
Everything will be back to normal by midnight Sunday night.
