International Film Festival

Filmfest DC, Washington's international film festival, kicks off tomorrow April 12th and runs through the 22nd.

The festival is largely centered here in Penn Quarter - you can grab movies at the Goethe-Institut, Landmark E Street, the Naval Heritage Center, and Regal Gallery Place (as well as at Avalon Theater in Friendship Heights).

The festival has three themes this year: The Lighter Side, a series of international comedies; Caribbean Journeys, new films from Jamaica, Cuba, Trinidad & Tobago, the Dominican Republic and more; and Justice Matters, a series exploring issues of social justice.

Tickets are available online and onsite.  You can also grab bulk discounts (10 tickets for $80, a $110 value) or a weekday package (4 tickets for $33, a $4 value, valid for screenings Monday through Thursday).
