Terrell Place, which was a Hecht's Department store when it debuted in 1924, has been sold to GE Asset Management, the Washington Post reports.
In 2003, the building was transformed into its current state with a $150 million investment and named after Mary Church Terrell, a civil rights activist.
No word on the sale price, but the site is valued at $300 million.
