The Verizon Center's arrival 13 years ago began the boom that is now Penn Quarter.
Since it's opening it has generated $92 million in tax revenues. Billboard magazine ranked it the 9th highest grossing venue over the past decade.
It won't surprise any PQ resident to know that the venue hosts 220 events per year.
Inside there is more than just the arena. There is a practice court, a 100-seat theatre, and 10 locker rooms--including rooms for the Capitals, the Mystics, the Wizards, the Hoyas, and visiting teams.
