More Construction in the Neighborhood

The YWCA moved out if its building at 9th and G in December, and today we got news that by June, the building will be completely leveled to make way for a new "trophy office space."

"We will develop a dramatic building that visually captures the corner while creating an active and memorable street-level retail experience," said Bob Murphy, a managing partner of one of the real estate investment firms involved in the project.

There will be two penthouse levels, each expected to have views of the Capitol and the Washington monument.  No word yet on who the new tenants will be, or if we can expect new retail on the ground level.
