Mayor about to be arrested by Capitol Police

Mayor Gray, Council Chairman Brown, and Council Members Brown, Wells, and Alexander protesting at the U.S. Capitol today.  They are protesting the lack of local control over D.C. funds, as the new federal budget outlaws using D.C. taxpayer funds to fund abortion.

DCist reports by twitter that they are about to be arrested.

One person has been arrested, but TBD reports Capitol Police are reluctant to arrest the mayor and council members. 

The group is part of this protest, and is blocking Constitution Avenue at 1st Street N.E.


UPDATE: Mayor Gray has been arrested.
