No parking tickets during government shutdown

NBC Washington reports that during a government shutdown, D.C. trash collection will stop and schools will stay open.  But there is good news: routine parking tickets will not be written.

While police (who will still be working) have the authority to write tickets for parking in front of a fire hydrant and other safety violations, there won't be Department of Public Works meter maids patrolling the city.

  1. I am going to park all OVER the dang city just to get them back for the tons of (usually incorrect) parking tickets they've given me!
