PQ Sports Bars Get Recognition

Kudos to Redline and Iron Horse for making Thrillist's Top 5 Sports Bars list, out today.

Bars in spitting distance of the Verizon Center were easy nominees for the list, but we particularly think Redline is a standout around here.  They've got ten beers on draft, personal beer taps, and a hearty menu - not to mention the 33 HDTVs and the 22 foot LED ticker.  Thrillist also reports that a tequila bar with 40 different varieties is in the works.

Iron Horse isn't too shabby itself, with its 20 taps and 22 bourbons.  And, even though they don't serve food, they've arranged for delivery from District Chophouse or Austin Grill.  We've always been a sucker for their skeeball, shuffleboard and Big Buck Hunter.

Finally - for what it's worth - Thrillist included Spider Kelly's on their list, which is out in Clarendon.  So, we hereby nominate Penn Quarter Sports Tavern to take the fifth spot on the list.  Being able to relax on the patio with a drink and watch the game?  Priceless on a nice fall weekend (much like the one we have coming up).
