Old Post Office to be Developed by Trump Organization

The Old Post Office Pavilion has been in limbo for quite some time, and we expected news at the scheduled hearing this Thursday.  Ahead of the hearing, Jonathan O'Connell at the Washington Post is reporting that the GSA has selected the Trump Organization as the preferred team to develop the space.

The Trump Hotel Collection proposed transforming the space into a luxury hotel, conference space, spa and museum showcasing the building's history.  The plan would retain the exterior facade as well as many of the original interior features.

"The Old Post Office building is an iconic building in Washington, D.C. and a spectacular opportunity for redevelopment, Ivanka Trump said.  "Preserving the architectural integrity of this great asset should be fundamental to all plans presented to the GSA."

  1. Love the building and have been sad to see it flounder for so long -- sounds like a great plan!
