Irish Channel is open once again; re-branded hotel to open April 8th

According to their facebook page (and MV Triangle Blog), the Irish Channel at 5th and H Streets is back open as of this afternoon.

Well in time for St. Patrick's Day, we are anxious to see the new Irish Channel!  The bar where Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor celebrated after her confirmation hearing, Irish Channel sits under what was formerly a Red Roof Inn.

The hotel is also being renovated, however, and will re-open as a Fairfield Inn & Suites.  Fairfield's website shows that the first available reservation at the new hotel is April 8, 2011.
